Check In is a real-time workplace sentiment tool that enables GovTechies to provide anonymous feedback via Slack, fostering psychological safety and engagement. It empowers leaders with timely insights through a consolidated dashboard, replacing traditional surveys with continuous, bidirectional feedback.
GovTech struggles to capture real-time workplace sentiment, as traditional quarterly pulse surveys provide delayed insights, risking unresolved issues and disengagement. Employees lack a psychologically safe, unfiltered channel for direct feedback, while leaders struggle to identify and address concerns proactively.
An effective solution must enable both ground-up feedback and top-down responsiveness, ensuring anonymity while maintaining team-level insights. Real-time sentiment tracking and bidirectional engagement will foster a transparent, supportive, and adaptive workplace — aligning with GovTech Way principles.
Check In is implemented in Slack, providing a one-touch, seamless experience for GovTechies. No additional downloads or accounts needed.

By splitting the surveyable population of GovTechies up into smaller groups, automated Check Ins will be sent via Slack at a predetermined frequency, ensuring timely and continuous feedback. This staggered approach provides more real-time insights while reducing survey fatigue compared to traditional quarterly pulse surveys.
Initiators of the Check-Ins will have access to a consolidated dashboard displaying real-time responses, enabling them to identify trends, detect emerging concerns, and take proactive action.

Check In enables feedback to be initiated from the ground-up by staff or from the top-down by leadership.

After beta testing, we plan to expand Check In to a larger group of GovTechies to assess its value in generating actionable insights. Once refined, we aim for full adoption across GovTech, replacing quarterly pulse surveys entirely.
Following successful implementation, we will engage interested agencies to explore integrating Check In into their key communication platforms.
